Faster Plaster I've had lots of requests to see what I made with the scalloped bowl mold (Wilton 2-part Candy Shell mold) that Heidi poured in our LIVE Faster Plaster Video so - here it is :) I used Ranger Alcohol inks for a color wash, glued flat marbles on for feet and glued leaf and small flower bead for accent and now I have a cute little jewelry bowl!

Faster Plaster

Faster Plaster New project just posted on the Faster Plaster Blog! This tile features several techniques: embossed coaster mold, embossed mini-tile and poured-on-texture-plate. I'm inspired :)

When I was shooting my Faster Plaster How to Mix and Pour video this week, I grabbed this texture plate that I had never used before for the on-air demo. I LOVE the way these words look on this Faster Plaster coaster tile but I wasn’t sure how I would use it.

Faster Plaster

Faster Plaster Yesterday, Heidi and Tiffany played with the Wilton Candy Dessert Shell Mold (this is a two part mold used for chocolate) to see if it would work with Faster Plaster and it did! Makes cute little bowls that would be great for holding jewelry or paper clips or whatevers! We video taped the live test and will get that video posted this week. So much fun!

Is this really messy? Is it something a five year old could do?
My granddaughter goes to a special charter school. Lots of art all over the school. They encourage parent participation. I thought it might be something I could teach. It is expensive? Let me know what you think. Jodie Booth Wasser

Hi Jodie! This is a great craft for the kids! Faster Plaster can be mixed in a zip bag or container with lid (I like to use a yogurt container). I think it would be fun for the kids to make their own frames. Just have the parents save the blister packaging that so many products come in these days - these are great and economical for the mold. Then... See More, cut a piece of craft foam to the shape and size of the picture you want to put into the frame. Place the craft foam in the bottom of the mold, pour the Faster Plaster over the foam and let everything sit undisturbed for at least an hour or until solid to the touch. The craft foam is then removed to reveal an indentation for the photo! The parents can use a microwave to speed up the drying process. When the pieces are cool, the kids can paint them. This project idea is featured on pages 9, 10 & 11 in our eBook.
