Bo (and John below) It's amazing how manipulative, self-seeking and abusive some of these wife/mothers truly can be! Knowing full well how to work a one-sided system to their own advantage I told my lawyer Friday "sure, I have a job (to pay as ordered) it's dedicating my life to making her's completely miserable as well"!

Give no quarter, "co-operate" less (with her) and take "prisoners" whenever one can! Our prayers are with you, keep us posted and by all means NEVER GIVE UP!

Hummm . . no expert here but you say your BF's boys live with you; being "joint" custody do they spent any extended time with their mother at all? Sounds like a review of the living situation is in order, 46 grand is certainly alot! Why a sudden "surprise"? How long has this been going on?

Just for FYI - curious how child laws are applied from ... Read Morestate to state. In Georgia if all your 4 "other marriage" children are minors then the two of you "living together" is considered "immoral", a "bad example" and good grounds for both your "ex's" getting their respective kids removed!

Good Luck!

Hey! I'm new around here from Atlanta area; Just managed to get a PTO overturned last Thurs (Nov 12th) but not reversed like I was indeed hoping! I have filed divorce Full Custody but see a real uphill battle coming in the sense that DV and female abuse against men is still almost unheard of; I do not see "joint" as an... option and will fight it tooth & nail,

My kids are 10 and 11 and we miss each other dearly!

A FYI one week update on the impotence of following "court orders"!

Told wife via phone Tues that "i am entirely unhappy with her temp sole custody situation but (in protest) will do EXACTLY as judge says, no more no less!" The Nov 12th (above) custody plan doesn't actually take effect until both lawyers agree/sign then the judge signs himself and here it is *one week later* and wife has already 1) requested I take kids last weekend and 2) had me convinced I had them entire 9 day school thanksgiving break as well(?) when in point of fact I just found out yesterday (Weds) that the order is not yet even Signed by Judge at all!

Been over a month now since "proceedings" have started (Oct 12) and apparently mom is looking for a much needed break already?... Read More

In other words I suspect she is the holdup, the one *still complaining* (as usual?) and My Best Advise To All Father's Who Care & Truly Want Their Kids -> hold yer ground firm and while all the time COMPLYING don't make the same mistake of treating yer kids as "hostages" until such as time as you know indeed that you can KEEP EM for sure!

Jeff,

The turning point typically for fathers is longer than for mothers in any custody case, but we already know this. It's no reason to stop pursuing rights as a father or to stop BEING a good father at every possible opportunity. There is a time to fight the good fight for fathers' rights and there is a time to pause and just be the best possible dad you can be for you kids. It's really hard sometimes to take a break from the battle and just relax with your kids and let them soak in the time they have with you.

There are a lot of us who are asking where our fair moment is or when is it going to happen, but in the meantime just keep your focus on pursuing your fathers rights as well as being a great dad for you kids. I'm sure you are already doing this Jeff. ... Read More

I have not had a visit with my 14 yr old daughter since 2-12-09. My phone is blocked and I have no way of communicating with my child. I have sent certified letters, documented, documented, got police reports that show interference of child visits, Voice recordings, and emails. I have more documentation/evidence than a...nyone person could have. I am unemployed and have no $$ to hire a lawyer. So, I went through Legal Aid, they assigned me a lawyer 2 months ago and nothing has happened, I get no return calls from this lawyers office, just lawyer run around. I have written the judge asking for help. All on deaf ears... Last time I filed the paperwork myself, her lawyer tore me up and I got hit with more support and nothing I asked for. ENFORCEMENT OF MY RIGHTS.... With the holidays coming up and her being my only remaining family, I foresee a bleak and depressing holiday season. I am a desperate, heartbroken father... Please advise me….Read More

Don't give up Michael. Have you tried to get into the FER offices to obtain help from the attorneys there? Also, keep a good social network in your life such as a church or anything that will allow you to mingle with other people who may be able to get you in contact with other professional people who have contacts or connections. If you have ... Read Moresome friends ask around about any attorneys they may know who may offer you some help for minimal expense if not free. Tell your story and keep asking for help, and remember you daughter is almost an adult and someday she is going to know how hard and long you fought an uphill battle for her. She deserves your steadfastness and dedication.

Micheal,
I know where you are coming from. I too have not seen my kinds since Juy 13, 2008 even though a court order has been in place, she just does not follow it and gets by with it. You see I live in WV and my kids live in TX I just recently was able to afford to have the NY court orders registered in TX but now I have to find the money to have... Read More it enforced or file contempt charges. It seems it is all about money and those of us who don't have it get shafted even more. I hesitate to go to court for I would loose alot of work as it is a 2 day trip down and 2 days back and not telling how long for court. I thought that when one member lives so far away that phone court could be done but they(Brown County) says that they do not do any court hearings over the phone.

Just left family court...husband took his daughter mother since she has went against the order 16 times and we have records. The mother's lawyer says the order isn't clear, this is the same order since 2006 (her orginial lawyer quit - said she was crazy). The judge reset the court. My lawyer says it's for our benefi...t. How in the heck is this possible. Now, if he was late on his child support he would be in JAIL. I am ready to get a new lawyer, my husband says we can't since he was the one that did the filing. Any advise...I am sOOOOO HOT! Can a new lawyer take over a case that has been reset?Read More

Can someone please give me some insight? My husband just found out that is 8 year old son is not his. He had a paternity test done on his own. The problems is he was ordered to pay child support in 2006 by the attorney general and at that time he waived the right to a paternity test. Is there anyway he can now get off ...of child support because the child is not his? If so, any chances of getting his money back? We are in Texas. Thanks. Read More

He needs to put it in front of a judge as soon as possible with the appropriate motion. I recommend he come to either one of our offices and start talking to attorneys. Depending on a few factors there may be a way to stop the child support. But please be advised once child support stops he looses all rights over this child including visitation. Please come in as soon as possible (there are deadlines) with all of your documents so we can start reviewing them with him.
