Fayetteville Public Library What's the best fantasy novel of 2009? It's a tie! In a surprise move, the World Fanstasy Award was split between the controversial teen title Tender Morsels by Margo Lanagan and Jeff Ford's sinister The Shadow Year. Check them both out at the library!

Fayetteville Public Library Check out the Electra project for girls ages 12-18 on starting on Nov. 5 at 5pm. The Electra Project will meet monthly to read plays with strong female characters. It is a partnership with TheatreSquared. They meet the first Thursday of the month through March. Way cool!

Fayetteville Public Library Dr. Ingrid E. Jacobs will present a lecture on post-traumatic stress disorder tonight at 6:30pm. The discussion will focus on understanding how PTSD occurs, the consequences associated with it & treatment.

The Friends of the Fayetteville Public Library will host its annual silent auction on Saturday, November 14, from noon to 4 p.m. in the library’s Walker Community Room.

Gently used items are now being accepted for the annual Friends of the Fayettville Public Library silent auction, such as jewelry, household items, elec...tronics, artwork and furniture.

The Friends of the Library will also offer a ‘grab and go’ table with large books and bundles of books for $5.

Auctioned items go to the highest bid at 4 p.m. Items not claimed by 5 p.m. will be relinquished.

The Friends are currently offering a chance to win a quilt. Tickets are available for $1 each or 6 for $5. The quilt’s winner will be drawn November 16 at 4 p.m.

Money from the auction and the quilt drawing helps support Friends, which provides money for library programs and services.
