I am a freshman at Cristo Rey Kansas City college prep, being a freshman has showed me a lot of responsibilities from the ones I had in my middle school years. I can learn more about my independent life and also learn how to take education more serious. I’m really enjoying
my new teachers and friendships at Cristo Rey....
Cristo Rey has really opened my mind towards my college and my future education,
has really helped me with life skills and how to earn good credits to graduate from high school.
When I graduate I am planning to go to college down in Chicago, Illinois to study criminal justice. Chicago is my hometown and my sister actually goes to a university there and of course she's my role-model.
Also I am very please with my job here at Ferrellgas, it’s also a very good learning skill for me and for my education future.

Ferrellgas Hi my name is Silverio Gonzalez I been with Cristo Rey for 2 years now. I am a junior at Cristo Rey. I didn’t start out as a freshman at Cristo Rey instead I went to J.C Harmon. I switched to Cristo Rey program because it had so much more to offer then any other high school in the area. The thing that I loved to the mo...st about it is the work study program where one day out of the week we get to came into a real work field and get experience to help you out in the future. My sophomore year I work at Shook, Hardy & Bacon it is a big law firm in Crown Center. I loved it there but didn’t get a chance to go back because of the economy. In the beginning of this year I started working for an Elementary school before I got switched to Ferrellgas. Once I complete high school I am planning to go to college to get my education to pursuit my dreams. They fields that I am considering are engineering, architect, but the one that I find more fascinating is studying to become a CFO of a large company. Right now I do not have a specific college that I want to go to I am still looking for the right fit.

My name is Onika Jackson I am a senior at Cristo Rey High School and an intern at Ferrellgas. I’ve only been employed by Ferrellgas for a few months but everyone here has made it feel like home. I’ve been attending Cristo Rey since my freshman year and have also been employed a different work sites ...through the Corporate Work Study Program over the last four years. So far the work experience here at Ferrellgas as been amazing I’ve learned how to audit important documents such as I-9’s, it’s busy work and it keeps me going. I will be graduating from Cristo Rey June 4th 2010; I plan on attending Missouri State located in my Springfield shortly after graduation for summer school to get the feel and understanding of college life. I will minor in psychology and major in children social work/ child development. My future goals are to give back to the community because I take so much from it, and it’s only right that I give back what I have taken. My heart is with children so whatever I do in my near future will deal with kids and their development in life. I would like to leave a permanent mark on my community and impact many children in the local area.
Ferrellgas Hi my name is Britt ,and i'm a student at Cristo Rey Kansas City. I'm a sophmore in high school, and is an intern for Ferrellgas. Here at Ferrellgas, I have the opportunity to feel like a real adult and experience many things. I'm currently filing papers. I enjoy coming too work every Tuesday, being welcome by all the... caring and loving employees. Once I graduate, I plan to go to college. I want to go to Harvard or George Town and take up nursing. I felt Cristo Rey was a good school for me, because I have the opportunity as a teenager to experince the work study of all these different jobs that they provide us to prepare us for our future. They believe in every student that they can and that they will be something in life. (Brit takes the Cristo Rey Mission to heart) I was created to be successful. I can do anything I set my mind to do. I achieve all my goals. I respect my parents, my elders, my peers, my teachers; but most off all, I respect myself. Daily, I am prepared for success: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I allow nothing and no one to stop my progress. I am ready to combat fear, ignorance, violence, drugs, and all other enemies of my community, my home, my school, and my life.Knowledge is power and my greatest weapon; I will graduate from high school and complete college or gain advanced training in preparation for my role as a leader and an entrepreneur. I will use my creativity to create businesses, jobs, and other opportunities in my community.

Ferrellgas Ferrellgas holds it 2nd annual Harvesters cook out. We raised money for the organization, shared food with the Lighton plaza tenants and gathered canned goods for the local food bank. Check out our new photos under community involvement.
Ferrellgas Ferrellgas is working with some outstanding High School students this year from Cristo Rey. http://www.cristoreykc.org/. The Staffing department and the HRIS group have 4 students working in their departments learning about the corporate enviornment. In the upcoming week we will feature pictures and stories from our student employees.
