Symantec has agreed to pay around $695 million for MessageLabs, an established and successful UK-based provider of online email spam filtering and anti-virus services. The move represents Symantec buying in help to grow its SaaS business, and is good for both companies.

Fight the Threats - ASEAN US anti-virus software firm Symantec has agreed to buy web security firm MessageLabs for $695m (£401.2m). Symantec is keen to expand in the growing cloud of its internet services business.

1. Generic Scanning Technique
2. Integrity Checking Technique
3. Heuristic Search Scanning
4. Interception technique

None of them are individually perfect. However in combination they often prove to be a ...formidable opponent to any current viruses, trojans and more.
