Some economists claim banks are squeezing their home mortgage customers to keep their profits high despite the global financial crisis. Even if the official interest rate drops to 2 per cent there is no certainty Australia’s four big banks will pass on the benefits.

Finally at Westpac, in telephone banking, they have changed our targets and our scorecard to reflect more on customer service than on sales. This should now help ease the stress of the bankers to meet targets and sales and make it a more happier workplace. At the end of the day, it should be more about customer service anyway, because without the customers, they wouldn't have a business.

Fair enough. Thanks Dwayne.
Dwayne Bunney

Dwayne Bunney I am a loyal FSU supporter and work for the CBA in a branch. However that sms and email that were sent out last week regarding the gallup poll was simply SILLY!! Gallup relates only to low-level managers, and bad scores for them only lead to irritated managers, becasue they don't get their bonuses, and stupid action plans that we have to work on for the next 12 months. We pay our membership fee for YOU to negotiate for us, not for you to send us pointless sms messages encouraging us to in essence, upset our managers. Come on FSU, you can think of something better than that SURELY!!!
