I'm not well informed enough to make a statement about civil courts vs. military commissions. But, I will say two things: (1) I thoroughly agree with the author of this article that Obama's statements that they will be found guilty is not appropriate. (2) In addition, Obama's statement that they will be executed is also abominable. Aside from the fact that I am wholly against the death penalty, it would just be a mistake to make martyrs of these criminals and inspire others to their cause.
