Late Wednesday afternoon, 100 audience members were treated to a pre-show private performance of four songs by Lyle Lovett and his Large Band, while the popular public radio show "World Café" taped a segment that producers said would broadcast next month.

Finger Lakes Public Radio World Cafe comes to Ithaca and Goes to Eleven with a reception with host David Dye at Cinemapolis, and a WC interview/taping with Lyle Lovett at The State Theater 11/11/2009.

Finger Lakes Public Radio FYI to our IT GOES TO ELEVEN contest winners, the World Cafe episode taping has been delayed ONE HOUR. Doors at The State open at 4:30pm, maybe 4:45pm (instead of 3:30pm) and the recording is expected to begin around 5pm.

By the way, who's a fan of "Says You!" with Richard Sher? We're working on having them tape an episode at The Smith Opera House in Geneva on either Friday June 4 or Sunday June 6, 2010. Probably Sunday, but anyone have a preference?
Not familiar with Says You? We added it pretty recently to Saturdays at 4pm. You can catch 'em online, too: www.saysyou.net

Finger Lakes Public Radio Congratulations to our 20 winners in the IT GOES TO ELEVEN sweepstakes for tickets to the World Cafe taping on Nov.11th. And remember, if you still have a hankering for World Cafe goodness, there are tickets available for the "Afternoon with David Dye" reception at Cinemapolis Ithaca earlier that same day (1:30pm, to be precise). Tickets available at (800) 28-ITHACA or at www.weos.org/worldcafe

Finger Lakes Public Radio Okay, I admit it, it was too confusing. So we've made it simple: just buy tickets to the "Afternoon with David Dye" reception at 1:30pm on Nov.11th. Just do that. Buy the tickets. BUY THEM! :) And...if you buy them before 12n on Nov.4, and you're in the contest to win ADDITIONAL tickets to see David record an episode of World Cafe at 3:30pm, which is a separate event.

Finger Lakes Public Radio BTW, the TCI method will replace the "donate $20 to WEOS and get a ticket" method we've run all week. Apologies to all who were confused by that system.
