I read the Dick Dorworth book "Night Driving" this past winter, I found this tome to be a bit awkward to just sit and read, rather I picked away at the prose leaping from one locale to the next.

Some of this matter is a bit drug-addled, much of it is positively amusing, some is genuinely insightful.

"Even a third-rate participant knows more than the best observer..."

(True enough.)

Or, regarding churches/temples as "... manifestations of man's ancient tradition of inhumanity, to man, in architectural form."

I eventually got through all of this, some of it I read twice which is saying something.

A good read, particularly if you are old enough to be nostalgic for the '70s mountain/ski/climbing culture.

Made me want to write my own book.

Welcome
