Good to hear. Which class did you take?

As you celebrate Independence Day, hopefully you will take time to talk as a family about the great sacrifices people have made for our benefit, the qualities that make the United States a great place to live, and the responsibilities we all share in keeping this country free...

Amen, and from personal experience as a child of divorce, I agree that the impact is big, even if the parties all think they are "doing what's best for the kids." THanks for your wisdom, I have read Wallerstein's book, and it spoke to me, at a heart level, and at a head level.
BettyJean at 5:54pm June 25
This is the truth.........no wonder God hates divorce.<><
Beverly at 5:24pm June 26
I do not buy into the thought process that it is best for the kids, they just say that as a way to ease their conscious as they desire to leave their commitments and do what they want to do rather it be both parents or one. The effect on children is for life, and rocks their foundations.

I know people are probably SICK of hearing about Jon and Kate, but I have to put in my two-cents worth. On the last episode they were saying that getting divorced would be better for the kids, that it isn't good for them to see their parents fighting and that everything will be just fine.Please...
Celestial at 2:47pm June 24
Very wise words! Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Beverly at 6:16pm June 24
Unfortunately I feel the this show is advancing the thought process of marriage is not a covenant promise, it is all about as long as the husband/wife continue to make the other one happy. In this case, Jon no longer is happy with Kate, so he is out to seek a new life and form of happiness. In this selfish mindset, Jon is convincing himself it is better for the kids, because it is the only way to clear his conscious.

A couple of weeks ago I was taking our daughter to get her wisdom teeth out. As I got into her car I smelled cigarette smoke. I think it would be fair to say that I started questioning her fairly intensely about why her car smelled like smoke. She assured me she had no idea...

First Things First Yesterday we celebrated Fathers. We would love to hear what makes your dad special.
Libby at 7:43pm June 22
My father thought of everyone before himself. He would give you the shirt off his back and he did many times!! He would bring home diseased animals he found on the roadside to give them medical attention. He was up early, worked hard all day and wouldn't stop until bedtime. My dad never met a stranger ~ he loved people and animals! He was the best!

Yep.

Is an affair defined by the act of physical intimacy? Or, is it defined by the act of mental desire?
I think I know how (based upon Jesus' teachings) my Christian friends likely see it, but I'm less certain how others do(???).
Interested in their responses.

LeAnn Marie at 9:02am April 15
if you have to ask, it is an affair. Anything that takes your mind off your obligations and robs your emotions and devotions to the Lord and your spouse is cheating. Some people may start out having this in a "game" sense but they become engrossed and cross the line before they know it. It is like any sin--better to not start than to not be able to stop

This weekend I worked in the yard. Woo Hoo!!!! I pulled so many weeds even my fingernails hurt. Several of us in the neighborhood have gone together to grow a vegetable garden. We spent Sunday afternoon tilling up the garden. While we were tilling we ran across a snake...
