Fleur De Lys Publishing

Hi, I'm Jude Calvert-Toulmin, the founder of Fleur De Lys Publishing Ltd, its director and also the author of our first two novels, Mother-in-Law, Son-in-Law (written under the pen name Julia) and MY ADVENTURES IN CYBERSPACE.

I formed Fleur De Lys because I wanted to be part of the revolutionary change which is sweeping through the traditional publishing industry. I didn't want to endure up to two years waiting for a large publishing company to take my book from manuscript to point of sale, I wanted to make it happen as soon as possible with the cutting edge technology of Print On Demand.

Tradition is the foundation on which change is built, and light doesn't shine through foundations.

I have been writing nearly every day for thirty seven years, since I first started to keep a diary the summer Roxy Music burst onto the music scene, through writing for the music press (i-D magazine, Melody Maker, Masterbag) and the climbing press (On The Edge, High) and onto writing on the internet.

For me, writing is not some whim, it is a passion that has taken a lifetime to come to fruition, after a journey which has encompassed one grandson, two divorces, three children and, I hope, writing and publishing many more books. The fact that I have set up a publishing house to facilitate the delivery of my writing to my readers reflects my passion, and I hope my passion will be transferred to you through my books.
