Looking out the window, we see what the snow can do. How the "no two flakes are alike" joined together to transform the landscape into a magnificent, sparkling scene. Nature's message is clear and pure: look at the result of individuals working together. And how quickly the task was accomplished...

This season of traditions provides us an opportunity to observe our attachment to the past as we try to recreate warm, positive memories. These very memories have the potential of obscuring the gift of the present time. Let's be open to our full potential of enjoying this magnificent time of year...

We welcome the opportunity for spiritual growth that this celebratory season of Light brings. We can take the opportunity to discover how we have become accustomed to living in the dark because we have honed our night vision and close our eyes to the bright light of Truth...

* JOIN US for our Winter Solstice Sweat Lodge Ceremony * Facilitator: John Bayerl.
John has been participating in "All Nations" lodges for over 20 years, and after a 5-year apprenticeship with a native elder, he started leading them about 10 years ago. John is also a Pathwork Helper with a private practice in Rockville,... MD.
The All Nations Lodge is inspired by Native Americans of the Great Plains. It is a spiritual form developed for non-natives who have the respect and sincerity needed to benefit from this purification ritual.
We heat STONES in a sacred FIRE and bring them into the lodge where they are blessed with HERBS and PRAYERS. In this dome-like structure, we sing and pray to affirm our connection with all of creation.
WATER is poured on the stones to create a healing steam which helps us to release toxins and open our energy centers. We offer this ceremony with respect and gratitude for the Creator, for the Earth and all her creatures, and for our native brothers and sisters who have kept this sacred ritual alive despite centuries of persecution and misunderstanding.
The Lodge is open to all seeking health and healing and a deeper relationship to the Earth.
Cost: Recommended donation for the facilitator and maintenance of the lodge and land $75.00. This includes a meal after the ceremony.

When our attitude is one of gratitude, we are able to meet life's challenges in a spirit of abundance. Trusting that we have what we need brings a sense of calm within us that can diminish the tendency to look outside for fulfillment of imagined needs...

As we observe nature this week, the trees are in the process of shedding the leaves that not long ago were so brilliantly colorful. The trees are releasing what was a temporary expression of their beauty. Nature reminds us of the continuous dance of expansion and contraction...
