Entertainment: ***The 82nd Airborne -All American- Chorus***
The 82nd Airborne Divisions -All-American- Chorus is a non-profit musical organization composed of Division Paratroopers representing nearly every unit in the Division. The Chorus mission is to promote trooper morale, unit esprit de corps, foster good public and community relations and support United States Army Recruiting efforts.
The All-American Chorus began as an informal organization in November 1967 formed to sing at Sunday services in the Division Chapel. At that time, the Chorus consisted of approximately 15 members. Over the years, the Chorus has supported several military endeavors, such as Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. The Chorus has also performed at countless professional sporting events, military ceremonies and public events.
Today, the 82nd All American Chorus performs primarily throughout the continental United States. Though their primary mission remains serving the soldiers of the U.S. Army and Fort Bragg, off-post performances continue to increase. Appearing in their maroon berets and ascots the Paratroopers of the 82nd All American Chorus are truly ambassadors for the 82nd Airborne Division.
>>This event coincides with -The American Soldier: A Photographic Tribute from the Civil War to Iraq- on display at the Florence Civic Center. Please visit this dramatic exhibition after enjoying the Veterans of Foreign Wars Day activities.
