The journey has been made and Berlin has arrived! I had a headache getting to the airport but thats just something I've come to expect when I travel in Europe. I have a few days to kill before the World Championships begin so I am hoping to explore the city a little, make it over to the athlete hotel to get my credenti...als (yes we have some this year!!), and get ready for Saturday. Mark comes out to meet me on Friday so we'll have the team ready to roll! The Berlin Super Coverage is up so check it out and familiarize yourself with it because we'll be bring the good stuff come Saturday. Can't wait, its going to be a great championship!

The morning started bright and early at 5:45am CST. I had 3 flights, Austin to Houston to Newark to Oslo and 23 hours later I was in the hotel. The trip was smooth and I was able to get a run in when I got back. I am trying to stay awake all day so I can sleep well tonight, but its hard! If anything weird happens in th...e video that cause I was falling asleep while editing. I'll try to get a blog up with some more details about the trip when I get some rest. Enjoy and can't wait to get more up. Remember the Oslo Golden League Meet is tomorrow and there are some big names! I'll leave some links below so you know where to check it out.

The transition has been made. High school track has ended, the collegiate season has passed....now its time for the big time! Crack Recap of the final day of competition at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Oregon Ducks came in ranked #1 on both the men's and women's sides looking good for two national titles and one triple crown. Texas A&M, however, had other thoughts. And on the men's side throw in Florida and Florida... State who both had legit shots at the title.
Porsha Lucas came up with a big win in the 200 meters to push A&M women over the edge. For the men, the story was (which we left out of the Crack Recap, our apologies) the triple jump where Texas A&M scored four guys for 18 points! But the 4x4 was the icebreaker for the team title.....Texas A&M needed to finished at least second to win, Florida had to finish better than fourth (and in front of A&M to win), or Florida State needed to finish first to tie Oregon for the title. A lot on the line and they all ran great. Texas A&M squeaked it out by two, while behind them was a three-way tie for second!!

Its Day 3 and its finals time here at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville. The team battle is heating up on the men's side as Oregon is trying to go for the Triple Crown, but Pat Henry and his Texas A&M men have something to say about it. On the individual side there is a lot to look forward to as Jenny B steps on t...he track for the last time, the fastest NCAA man and woman will be crowned, and Rupp will run his third race in less than 24 hours.

Jenny B is at it again....fast races, breaking records. She has been on a roll all year and this past weekend was no exception. Barringer finally raced women, and some of the best around. If you didn't get to watch the race on TV you definitely missed out, but lucky for your Jenny B's 1500 is this week's Tasty Race of ...the Week!
Jenny became the 3rd fastest American of all time and only the 4th US woman to break 4:00. She was about 6 seconds under the NCAA record of 4:05.

Kick of the Week this week comes from the Texas State Championship 5A 3200 meter final. Connor Reed thought he only had to hold off Justin Webb for the title, but they forgot about Parker Stinson! Stinson sneaks up with about 75 to go and this is how it went down....

We live in a democracy right? So with the being said.....the people have spoken and we have listened. This week's Kick of the Week comes from the Illinois State Meet in the Boys 1A 800 Final.
It was best said by Patrick McHugh:
“I would say the 800m is kick of the week because the top 3 guys all ran great and broke Zach... Glavash's state record. Peter, though, finishes like no one I have ever seen outsied of maybe Wheating or Wottle. Given the way all the guys ran, the stakes on the line, the fact that 3 guys broke the state record, and the way Peter finished -- this should be the kick of the week. Thanks for considering it.”
