High School in Sammamish Washington Challenges Students .
Reid Backstrom of East Lake High School
has proposed a challenge to his fellow students.
“Reduce your carbon footprint, save money, get fit, and enjoy living.”
From April 27- May 1, every student that gets to Eastlake High School (Sammamish WA) without driving thei...r car (ie. riding a bike, walking, or riding the bus) gets a raffle ticket to fill out and drop into a drop box. Posted on the drop box, and around the school are prizes that could be won by people if they participate as well as statistical facts about how much carbon and money they could save by doing so. Reid, as the event planner and coordinator, hopes to inspire people with the help of sponsors and donations (including Green Label Organic) to start a chain reaction of people using alternative ways of getting to school, and set a life style for people in his community that involves exercise, enjoying the outdoors, and loving the earth (and keeping the car parked in the drive way a little more often).

Green with Fashion is a charity, eco-fashion show, which will spotlight designers from all over the country, and will take place on Wednesday, April 22nd at 7pm. The event will be held at Philadelphia's famous F.U.E.L. House, commonly known as MTV's Real World Philadelphia House
Twenty-five designers and boutiques inclu...ding Green Label Organic have agreed to take part in the event and have their designs in the show. In addition to locally- and nationally-known designers, Drexel students have also been invited to contribute their own eco-friendly designs.
Tickets are $15 until March 13th, when they will become $20. Proceeds will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. All tickets must be purchased in advance -- there will be no ticket sales at the door. You can purchase tickets securely on the event website using PayPal or your credit card.
