The second Melbourne Buddhist Film Festival will be held over the weekend 31 October to 1 November 2009 at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), in Federation Square, Melbourne.
The Melbourne Buddhist Film Festival is presented by the Buddhist Council of Victoria.
Six films, most not screened before in Melb...ourne, explore the deep influence of Buddhist practice in the transformation of people’s lives. The films explore Buddhist lives and experiences in the West and East, including the lives of prisoners, punks, other inspirational practitioners and spiritual leaders. The festival includes two traditional tea ceremonies in the ACMI function space.

The event will showcase the vegetarian cuisines of the diverse ethnic groups within the Buddhist community of Melbourne.
This event is organised by the Buddhist Council of Victoria for the purpose o...f raising awareness of the cultural diversity within the Buddhist community in Victoria. The event aims to raise funds on behalf of the Victorian Buddhist community towards the organising costs of the upcoming Parliament of the World’s Religions (PWR) to be held in Melbourne, 3-9 December 2009, the world's largest interreligious gathering. Venerable Phuoc Tan from the Quang Minh Temple is a patron of the PWR and is assisting us in organizing this event.
