You are absolutly right WF.
That is part of the reason that we feel our youth volunteer programs are SO important. Connecting kids with nature is one of our key missions!

Some of these children come from difficult situations and for them to realize that it was their care that saved an animals life, well that is a very powerful experience for anyone!
Sometimes it is the first thing they have done that they feel really good about.

The conversation usually goes something like this.... "Hello, Forever Wild? My son just found a rabbit in my neighbors yard and I think there might be something wrong with it?.......

I would just like to add, both of these rabbits are already litterbox trained. That step is already done for you, they are just waiting for a home.
