Tyler Morris Woodworking There are many wonderful woodworkers in the West using beetle kill pine for rustic, lodge-type furnishings. On the contrary, we intend to use it for modern accent pieces that tell a story that you can share.

"How do you do that?"
Customers (and other woodworkers) often ask us how we create the 1/32” maple "outline" around the corner splines in our walnut and cherry serving trays. First, we cut the eight corner slots in the assembled serving tray at .250". Next we prepare the spline stock. We start with milling 2' long stick...s to create "sandwiches" of .125" maple/.185" walnut/.125" maple, then glue .125" maple onto one edge of the sandwich. We then saw and sand the glued-up spline material to .250" thick and prepare the maple edge to .030" thick. Next, we glue the splines into the slots and sand them flush with the sides. It’s a lot of work, but we feel that the result is worth the effort.Read More

Three hundred blackboard frames completed! New Belgium Brewery recently replaced all their old (up to 17 years!), worn-out and sometimes sticky, wood tap handles with new ones. All the old tap handles, over 8,000 of them, arrived at our shop in August. Each blackboard frame received 20 tap handles "snaked" around the ...frame. The frames are a great example of recycled art and are being hung in bars and restaurants across the country displaying "Tonight's Special." Thanks, NBB.

Here in Colorado, we are dealing with pine beetle infestation among our vast lodgepole pine forests. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_pi ne_beetle
Our friend, Jan Krucky, recently designed this vanity to fit inside a narrow hallway in his home addition. We built it using local, beetle-kill pine. The countertops are baltic birch plywood.

"Please send us pictures of your installed brackets."
This is the question that we have been boldly asking our customers who have bought our countertop corbels and shelf brackets. We have received 80 pictures over the past 1 1/2 years. Here are a few.

Tyler Morris Woodworking The customer, Mark Johnson, requested, "I need interior entry doors to be mounted with brand new sliding barn door hardware for my ultramodern offices." Well, here is the result, lacquered birch plywood barn doors with clinched nails.
