Fort Myers Fire Department As we adjust our clocks for daylight savings it’s the perfect opportunity to make sure our smoke alarms are clean, have fresh batteries and are working properly. Communities nationwide witness tragic home fire deaths each year. Non-working smoke alarms can rob residents of the protective benefits they were designed to provide. The most commonly cited cause of non-working smoke alarms is dead or missing batteries.

Fort Myers Fire Department One year old Ember from Estero Fire Rescue.
Fort Myers Fire Department Engine 13 was at Allen Park Elementary School this morning to teach fire safety to the hearing impaired students. Estero Fire Rescue's PIO also joined us with her Dalmatian, Ember. Ember is a working dog with the department and served as a wonderful visual for the kids. Engineer Mike Deke is proficient at sign language and was able communicate with the kids as well!

Fort Myers Fire Department On Sunday, October 18th, the Fort Myers Fire Department hosted an Open House at Station 6. The public was invited to join us in celebration of Fire Prevention Month and the event was held in conjunction with Florida City Goverment Week.

On October 15th the Fort Myers Police Department presented “Do The Right Thing” awards to six local students.
One of those students was Mark Ganim. The Fort Myers Fire Department nominated him for his assistance in preventing a tragedy. A five-year old autistic boy was witnessed walking straight into a pond in the ne...ighborhood. Mark pulled the boy from the pond before emergency services arrived on scene. He did all of this while having his own hand in a cast. Read More
