The Recording Studio - www.fortressstudios.co.uk/studio

The recording studio at the Fortress is fantastic for live band recording. It offers spacious live areas, loads of equipment and of course the classic warmth of a Neve V1 Desk.

Our Spacious, recently acoustically redesigned control room, offers producers and engineers an ideal environment in which to ‘create’.

At the business end is a 48 Channel Inline Neve V1 console (96 Channel on mix), with Martinsound Flying Fader automation and mutes on every channel. Pro Tools|HD 7 24 in 32 out at sample rates of up to 96KHz. Otari MTR90 24 track 2" and an Otari MTR12 2 track 1/2".

Loads of tasty outboard gear to try out on your tracks with lots of famous names like Universal Audio, Avalon, Massenburg, DBX, AMEK, Drawmer, Thermionic Culture, Bel, Eventide, Lexicon and Neve. We’ve even got an EMT plate reverb to add some classic warmth.

The Live Room (adjoining the control room) is approximately 550 square feet and specifically designed for live Music recording.

The Live Room houses the studios keyboard collection, which includes two upright pianos, a Hammond rotary organ with Lesley cabinet, a Rhodes piano, a MiniMoog, a MultiMoog, a Roland Juno - 106 and a Korg Polysix.

Rehearsal Rooms - www.fortressstudios.co.uk/rehearsals

“Having been a musician in the 80’s and 90’s and having trawled around hideous rehearsal rooms during that time, I decided to build my rehearsal rooms to the spec that I myself would want, i.e.: Wooden floors, tuned rooms, powerful PA systems which include foldback, dimmable lighting, 5 piece kits, which include cymbals, free tea and coffee making facilities and Amps that actually work!”
Quote from Shaun Harvey MD Fortress Studios.

Should you want a regular weekly rehearsal, or the occasional rehearsal to get ready for a gig, Fortress offers two extraordinary rehearsal rooms at very competitive rates. Morning, afternoon, or evening, we are open 7 days a week.

The two rooms also open out to form a massive performance space for larger bands or showcases.

Recent artists include The Rakes, Bloc Party, Lilly Allen, The Foals, Cajun Dance Party, Breed 77, The Boxer Rebellion, Jamie Cullum, Warp Films auditions, Warner Brothers A&R showcase, The Metros and many more...
