Frances Dinkelspiel I am a little late in announcing this, but Towers of Gold has been named a Best Book of 2009 by the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association. This means posters with the cover of the book will be going up in bookstores around the region.

It's no secret that I love independent bookstores. I am down in Los Angeles and yesterday dropped into the new Diesel Bookstore in Brentwood, even though I had spent the previous two days surrounded by authors and books at the LA Times Festival of Books. ...

Frances Dinkelspiel Here's a nice review of Towers of Gold from all places ... El Paso. It's not really so strange as Daniel Olivas, a Los Angeles Latino-Jewish writer, wrote the review.

Frances Dinkelspiel I am on my way to Los Angeles tomorrow to promote Towers of Gold. I am really excited as much of the book deals with the early days of the city and I think people in southern California are eager to learn more about that history. I will be at the Huntington Library on Friday evening. Here is an entry from the great blo...g LA Observed about Towers of Gold.
