The School Library Journal's blog, Good Comics for Kids has selected Frankie Pickle as one of the Best Comics for Kids 2009! Here's what they have to say: "Hilarious and imaginative, this is hands-down the best graphic novel/early chapter book hybrid available." -- Scott Robins...

From Kirkus Reviews: Like the book he is bound in, Frankie Pickle is a hybrid. During the comic-book sequences, he is a swashbuckling superhero, and Indiana Pickle. In the chapter-book segments of the story, Frankie is your standard grade-schooler, who finds himself in an increasingly sour pickle...

Long before I became a children's book author, my auspicious career began as a design student at Carnegie Mellon University. While I only stayed for my freshman year, my time in Pittsburgh made a lasting impression that I still hold dear as some of my fondest memories.
Needless to say, I could not be more thrilled abo...ut being invited by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh to share my career path with educators, as well as discuss theories on new ways of reading with esteemed colleagues Rachel Griffiths and Jonah Winter.
The cost of the program is $15, $25 with lunch. And I'm told if you don't want to come for the whole program, my signing will be open to the public starting at 2:30.
Details for the event are here: http://www.pittsburghkids.org/Templates/ CMP_Level3_List.aspx?CID=1152&SECID=5&ME NUID=477
In conjunction with the book festival, the ToonSeum will be exhibiting original art from Frankie Pickle. The ToonSeum is conveniently located within the Children's Museum:
