Maryland Building Official's Association released an informative document regarding roof snow loads.

Offices and public libraries will return to regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, February 16. See the attached release for clarifications to the holiday schedule.

Public Libraries will be open Saturday & Sunday for normal hours. Stock up on books & movies for the President's Day holiday.

County Government offices will be closed on Friday. County Commissioners' Pres. Jan Gardner extended the Local State of Emergency until Noon on Friday & urges residents to stay off roads to the extent possible so crews may clear roadways.

For people who have been stuck by the snow, the county has opened a center just to get warm at 1440 Taney Avenue, Frederick, MD. Details: 301-600-1746.

The Health Department’s H1N1 flu clinic scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon at the Church of the Redeemer is CANCELED due to the inclement weather. Please visit our flu clinic page for all future clinic dates and times.

The Health Department is closed Monday, February 8th. The Substance Abuse Program’s Methadone Clinic will be open this morning. However, all other Health Department programs and services, which includes the Frederick County WIC program, are canceled.

County Government offices and facilities, Frederick County Public Libraries and the District & Circuit Courts will be closed on 2/8 in order to allow the recovery and snow removal progress from this weekend’s severe snow storm to continue unimpeded.

No additional snow is expected. Temps will drop into single digits tonight with winds and possible gusts, increasing the risk of snow drifts. Travel remains challenging despite the hard work of road crews.

With the winter storm & significant snow accumulation with blizzard conditions, the Emergency Preparedness Department and its partners request citizens stay home and off the roads to allow snow crews and emergency personnel to perform their jobs.
