Maryland Shakespeare Festival
Maryland Shakespeare Festival’s Season of Forbidden Love continues with Shakespeare’s psychological thriller, Othello. Join us on a journey through love won by words and lost by betrayal.
What better way to explore this tale of the power of language to both create and destroy than with a Bare Bard? As part of Maryland ...Shakespeare Festival’s ongoing experiment on Shakespeare’s original practices, the actors will perform with very little rehearsal, trusting instead the strength of Shakespeare’s words and the immediacy of the story to bring the world of Othello alive. As Frederick audiences have come to expect and love, the Bare Bards are “edge of your seat” theatre—and the perfect medium for the cunning, passion, and terror of Othello.
WHEN: Two performances only! Saturday, November 21st at 8pm and Sunday, November 22nd at 2pm. A discussion will follow Sunday’s performance. No two performances are ever the same, so come twice!
WHERE: Parish Hall, All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 Church Street.
TICKETS: $15 general admission, $10 seniors/students/military, and available at the door, by emailing tkts@mdshakes.org, or by calling 301.668.4090.
