The Fredericton Playhouse heard an inspiring keynote address in Calgary by His Excellence Jean-Daniel Lafond, husband of Governor General Michaelle Jean, about the need to protect Canadian culture: "What creates Canadian culture are the artists that create IN Canada. Art and culture are are essential resources that must be protected. It is up to us to share that idea so that it resounds daily in our communities."

A tiny little girl is discovered injured on the beach and suddenly, Old Thomas' life is filled with happiness. No more grumbling and being cranky, no more yelling nonsense at the universe -- the old man rediscovers joy and wonder in his life. Could this little girl be a fairy?... Adapted from the book of the same title written by Dominique Demers and illustrated by Stéphane Poulin, Old Thomas and the Little Fairy is a dance-theatre production that takes an optimistic look at the cycles of life, and introduces children to two charming characters who take care of each other. This performance will be an amusing and eye opening experience for the entire family. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
