Actual cost versus savings
by Ron at 7:13pm on August 8th, 2008
Based on the prices, and the consumption rate contrasted against current energy costs, the average savings would take 13.84 years to rationalize replacing an existing low enery flouro bulb with one of these units, and 4.8 years to do the same for a standard bulb. Hardly a saving. Did I miss something here?

50Par20 Halogen Bulbs item 1584074
by Dino at 1:40pm on April 29th, 2008
I've purchased 2 cases of the 50Par20 halogen bulbs and the have no where near a 3000 hour life. I've marked all my bulbs and have gone through all 20 already. One of which was DOA out of the box. I would stay away from them unless I hear I had 2 bad lots of these bulbs.

Re: Ron Davies (REVIEW ^^^^)
I agree, the cost of the products is rather high, but you must also look at the other positives other then simply saving money; saving the planet.. Using 100% recyclable LED bulbs keeps tons of waste out of our land fills, and with CF lamps, all sorts of toxic materials out of there as well.
The convenience of LEDs even in comparison to CF is great also, there burn out rate is at 4-5 times that of CF.
There are advantages, but I suppose for the time being they will remain a high end luxury product rather then a main stream replacement for the typical incandescent.

I would recommend these bulbs to anyone looking to upgrade their lighting. Not only do they pay for themselves with rising energy costs, their sleek and modern design will make your house standout!

These look like a great product but it is so hard to buy them when you are on a tight budget. Hope to have them in my house by the wintertime.
