Fresno Metropolitan Museum needs to change their marketing strategy and image. Fresno, CA is not New York City, we have way too many museums and galleries in Fresno.
If Fresno Met wants to survive, you MUST place as many museums and galleries under one roof. Frankly the last Dinosaur display was a disappointment too many floors of the same thing.
Imagine tying under one venue Artes Mexican Museum, Fresno Arts Center, a few local galleries on the Art Hop (rent space at a low fee) add in a section for Hmong Art and Culture. You can charge each organization a nominal space fee. have 1 rep from each area on your board. This would be a win-win situation for them.
Thank God the Armenian Museum committee has stalled with opening in Fresno. Add on a section for the Armenians. While I was in Washington DC touring the Smithsonian the Punjabi/Indians had a FANTASTIC display of their wedding costumes, music, historical information, etc., Fresno is home to many educated Punjabi Physicians, this is a rich and ancient history.
Tie this all under one roof, can you imagine the amount of community support and cultural faires, etc., that the Met could do?... See More
Rename and change the image to Fresno Community Museum of Cultural Arts (FCMC)
I would offer my services and help in any way to turn this around.
