
Friends of Scarborough Marsh The unofficial results of yesterday's election are in: 60% of Scarborough voters supported replenishing the million dollar land conservation bond. The town's Parks & Land Conservation fund will receive $200,000 in matching funds from an anonymous donor of the Maine Community Foundation, too! Proceeds from this year's Dinner & Auction will contribute to an existing fund dedicated to conserving and protecting the 'critical edge'. This 250-500 feet of upland edge is continuously threatened by significant development pressure and is vital to the overall health of the Scarborough Marsh.

Join us on July 25 and August 22 at Scarborough Marsh for a survey of birds to document the numbers of individuals and species. Surveys may be done on foot, by car or from a canoe Beginning birders welcome!

Friends of Scarborough Marsh
Last year, nearly 150 volunteers collected over a 1,000 pounds of trash and flotsam and jetsam of all kinds from the town's beaches and marsh.
This year's event, in honor of Earth Day, will be held on Saturday, April 25. Bring a friend (or 2 or 3!) and join the fun! Bring your own gloves and dress appropriately.
