Here's a few tip about bananas at the Rochester Public Market:
1. The price/lb. is often no different than in local supermarkets.
2. They are often over ripe, or when green, they ripen differently than store bought one.
3. The Dole ones sold in plastic bags have a funny taste and often ripen with a foul taste as if the...y were kept in cold storage too long or experienced some other storage problem.
Below is a link re bananas. They say eating one a day fulfills the average adult requirement for potassium in the diet.

I bought some kiwis today at the public market because I had heard that
they promote good digestion in that they have a high fiber content and
have natural enzymes that help digest proteins.
Rather than take a pic of my 3 small kiwis that I got for a buck, I
have attached a really cool link about them from a web page calle...d
"all-creatures.org."
It's graphics are superb, better than my pics would have been. And, it's content top-notch.
Try it. You might like it.
