In order to enter, filmmakers create a submission video that details why their project should be showcased. Films will be chosen by audience members. The 10 feature and 10 short films will be determined by user ratings, volume of comments, views, times a film is favorited, and a final audience vote. FROM HERE TO AWESOME will present a variety of narrative, documentary and animated films.
10 STEPS TO GETTING YOUR FILM INTO THE TOP 10
1. All you have to do to SUBMIT is make a video explaining to audiences what is AWESOME about your film. Be creative and keep it under 3 minutes in length.
2. You can come on screen and give some kind of production story or reason for making the movie. Or use voice over or if you're shy you can use motion graphics and titles.
3. Have a graphic or announcement somewhere in your video that says "From Here to Awesome Submission Video". Feel free to use our GRAPHICS by clicking HERE or create your own. Also make sure to let people know how to spread the word about your submission and film. More details coming soon.
4. Add some clips from your trailer that can give the audience a feel for the film.
5. Use some behind the scenes footage from the making of the movie.
6. Remember this is how the audience will judge your work so be creative and have a good time.
7. At the end of your video have a call to action that talks directly to your audience. Ask the audience to add your film as a friend on myspace, rate it, and add it to your favorites. Then on youTube ask the audience to favorite your submission video, rate it, and subscribe to your youtube channel.
Also ask the audience to spread the link of your submission video and let them know that FROM HERE TO AWESOME will showcase this film and it will be released in theaters, living rooms, online and on mobile devices if you make it to the top 10. So if they want to see this film, they should get involved and help spread the word.
8. When you're finished creating your submission video upload it to myspace and youTube. MAKE SURE TO give your submission video a good title and description here's a sample
"Official entry for the From Here to Awesome virtual film festival. Common is an upcoming feature film from Tornado Alley Entertainment. To find out more about the film, how to set up screenings in your home, or how you can help promote the film, go to www.myspace.com/commonthefilm"
9. THEN TAG your video FHTAFeature and AwesomeFeature if it is feature and FHTAShort and AwesomeShort if it’s a short. Make sure to use other descriptive tags like comedy, horror, drama, animation etc.
10. VERY VERY IMPORTANT - RETURN TO http://fromheretoawesome.com/submissionform.html to complete the submission process. Otherwise we won't be able to find your submission video. You'll want to have your myspace, blipTV, and youTube video URLs handy.
