Fruit Slinger I find this more amusing than I'd care to admit: Fruit Slinger got a mention in Time Out Chicago.

Not only did Fruit Slinger get a mention, but you are referred to as "Dan Shumski, The Apple Expert." I'm so proud to know you.

It's hard to believe, isn't it? I would have even settled for "Dan Shumski, AN Apple Expert."

Fruit Slinger Just siphoned off cider into a second fermentation vessel. Siphoning is like witchcraft! Or possibly physics.

Tim Byrne picked an apple from the spindly tree, sliced it and popped a chunk into his mouth. He couldn't have been more pleased as he chomped and got a juicy blast of sweet-tart flavor.

I'm glad to see it was bred for more depth of flavor than Honeycrisp - I'm always disappointed that our newest varieties lack brightness and tang (my current fave is the Japanese Mutsu) I'll be on the lookout for this one!

Is it possible to fall in love with a fruit? Six or seven years ago a young Web producer named Chip Brantley was browsing the Culver City farmers market when he encountered a yellow-skinned, outrageously sweet fruit that changed his life. ...

Fruit Slinger Interesting article on pluots. (With a strange and superfluous final paragraph).

In late June, an editor at Bon Appétit appeared on The Early Show to talk about the pluot, a fruit available throughout the summer that she described as a plum-apricot hybrid consisting of "75 percent plum." She had three different fruits with her, which s

Your lowest f-stop is 3.5? Next investment: a fixed 1.8 35mm or 50mm lens--you'll probably want to throw away your zoom once you see what you can do with a lower depth of field. And fixed lenses are much cheaper than zoom lenses. Don't know what options Nikon has, but I got a new Canon 1.8 50mm lens for $50 a couple years ago.
