Warren W. Willis UM Camp Official Page
Dear Friend of the Warren Willis Camp,
This year 9,500 campers, adult volunteers, leadership team members (counselors), youth workers and guests have visited the Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp. Our camp strives to keep the ministry of Christian discipleship and hospitality alive for every person who drives thro...ugh the front gates. As a friend of the Warren Willis Camp, you may have personally experienced a life changing moment at camp, or maybe your son or daughter have been impacted in some way by their time at camp.
Whether you were here at Crosstrainers last month, summer camp this past summer, at camp on a weekend retreat, or maybe it has been many years since you have been to camp, we pray that the time spent at camp has impacted your life away from camp.
Whatever brought you to the Warren Willis Camp, the emotions shared at this place are shared throughout generations. Camp offers the young and old a place to come fellowship, a place to meet Christ, and a place to re-energize their love for the Lord.
As we recently celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Camping Ministry, we were reminded of the foundation upon which the Warren Willis Camp was built. This vision was to provide a place where young and old could "...come and meet Christ and accept Him as Lord and Savior of their lives (Dr. R. Ira Barnett)." This vision has now grown into a year-round ministry that is renewing souls, equipping disciples, and changing lives.
At camp we continually strive to enhance our programming options. We desire to be a fluid camp that can change to meet the needs of our changing world. Some of these enhancements and changes are to the physical property and some are to the types of programming and staffing. This year our summer camp welcomed over 3,500 campers from fourth through twelfth grade. Our summer staff has increased to over 100 leadership team members and over 300 adult volunteers. This increase has given us the opportunity to better take care of our facility during the summer, but more importantly it has given us the opportunity to better reach our goal of relational ministry to the campers.
The Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp is growing by leaps and bounds. God's ministry in this place takes new shape each year and we want you to join with us in providing a place for people to come meet Christ. Please consider making an end of year gift to the Warren Willis Camp. Your year-end donation will help our camp continue its mission, and pave a way into the future.
Travel down memory lane- Take that turn down Picciola Road and remember your life changing moments at camp. Come visit us soon, we would love to see you.
Thank you for joining with us and helping camp thrive in its purpose.
Wishing you a very blessed holiday,
Mike Standifer Director
