As fundamental as it is, net neutrality isn’t the easiest thing in the world to explain. That said, FMC has certainly its best to illustrate why the open internet is so important to artists and fans (check out our Rock the Net campaign and our body of articles, factsheets and blog posts).

The EFF is concerned that this is a power grab. if they can demand neutrality, what's to stop them from adding censorship, etc... Oh, and I just found out today that my internet connection is being routed through rr.com's network, not nyct.net's... ugh. what a scam.

Read those EFF statements. I think they might be a bit out of their depth on this particular issue. NN would prevent censorship, unless the data is already inherently unlawful. Their opposition may be preemptive attempt to hinder any effort to the sharing of unauthorized content. Seems a bit like a straw man, as they are two separate concerns.
