GL Assessment is an independent UK provider of tests for the educational market.

We have been providing schools with tests and assessment services for thirty years and our tests are used by over 85% of all UK primary and secondary schools every year.
Products:
The majority of our assessments are aimed at 5-14 year olds and can be broadly divided into five main categories: knowledge, skills and understanding; ability; special educational needs; personal development; and customised tests.

The assessments in our knowledge, skills and understanding portfolio are largely focused on the core subjects taught at school. Examples include the popular Progress in English and Progress in Maths series.

Our range of ability assessments explore all aspects of cognitive functioning or general conceptual ability. These measure verbal, non-verbal and spatial reasoning, and how pupils think in different situations and contexts. The most popular test in this range is CAT - the Cognitive Abilities Test.

In addition, to increase the scope and flexibility of its educational list, GL Assessment has also developed Testwise, a powerful e-assessment portal. Testwise is designed to take the work out of administering, scoring and analysing tests. Learners complete assessments online, and instant scoring gives teachers comprehensive results and analysis at the touch of a button. Many of GL Assessment’s most popular tests are now available online including the Cognitive Abilities Test, Group Reading Test, Suffolk Reading Scale, Progress in Maths and Progress in English.
