how come nobody is responding to my email?

Our money went into this competition; I think we deserve an explanation!

I
wonder what kind of people even judged this competition. Your place is
small and it‘s starting to feel like the only reason you have the
competition is to raise revenue. You’d think if you could read
an entire screenplay, you’d have time to write a paragraph or sentence
long critique or something. -.- but, no, nothing. No...thing but a copy
and pasted generic rejection letter. And if you think about it: if
you’re a small theater which nobody goes too, unless by advertisements,
what better way to make money than to start a screenplay competition,
take the few non-hollywood staff members you have and “read” everything
in 2 months’ time?… You just look like stuck-up money grubbing freaks
now… I really hope Bluecat is better.

I don... Read More’t feel intimidated or discouraged. -.- I went to your free Gotham screenplay 3 finalists readings last night. There were only seats for 20 or so people and there were about 12 actors.

The screenplays were clever… but too clever (too facetious). Nothing I would wanna pay to watch. And lacking any clear themes. A lot of the humor was over-facetious and there was absolutely no main character (most) people could identify with. Ugh, just my opinion, if you’re gonna make a comedy, at least have characters that have some kind of thematic draw. In Harold & Kumar, Harold was identifiable with because he was being pushed around at work and because he couldn't talk to the girl he liked. Kumar was identifiable with because he didn't wanna be what his dad wanted him to be. The humor was there to build character, not to overdo stupid unnecessary jokes (In the reading, as clever as the jokes were, the audience was not laughing at all; There was more laughing in the skits I did back in my high school drama class than there were here -.-).

Christopher Canole As a nominated writer this is a rare opportunity. Thank you for extending the effort to writers. Now for some popcorn, turn down the lights, Gotham is ready to rock!
