You need to hear from someone living in a Socialist society and just how free their healthcare system is...oh and about staying home and caring for your own children, well that makes you a non person, a leech, the government daycares are supposed to have them. Rhonda, I'm sorry about your mom. Do you have assets/credit line you can tap? Just because the insurance company won't pay doesn't mean you can't have the procedure done if you want it. We've already made up our minds that if the doctor says we should do it and the insurance company won't pay, then that's what assets are for. I sure wouldn't let "keeping the house" lose me my mom!

Thank you Marcia your very kind, after her radiation doc willi ask again for a full scan. I don't have the assets to help her. I guess she could sell her house - it just infuriates me that such a drastic measure would be necessary with the high premiums paid for private insurance.

small business group health insurance = Our premiums are about 700 with that you get a lovely 2 to 4 % discount off full price doctor/lab visits and a 5 K deductible per yr. Scripts allowed must be under directives of the ins co and most of those are already on the $4.00 list of drugs. I left a prescription at the ph...armacy as it was 156.00 (not a covered item under the dictatorship of the ins company lol). Seems the money we would save on premiums we could afford to pay off current dr bills and buy meds. Will Hospitals work with you on payments if an emergency arose without insurance? Any thoughts? I am dumfounded why I am paying 700 a month to carry a plastic card that is pretty much useless. Oh and the insurance companies dictate what prescriptions are allowed so how is that different that the govt doing it? What is the Christian approach?Read More

Want to hear the latest credit card scam?

Let’s say you get a call from someone saying he’s from the Security and Fraud Department at MasterCard or VISA.

He identifies himself and says your card’s been flagged for an unusual $500 purchase. You tell him that no such purchase was ever made.

He then says a credit in the form of a check will be sent to you, and he states your address correctly.

The man also informs you that he’s opening a fraud investigation and he gives you a 6-digit control number for your specific case.

So, you’re thrilled that you’re getting some money back and you’re happy to cooperate. He says he needs just one more thing.

To verify that you actually have the credit card, he asks you for that little 3 digit number on the back of the card. So, you read him the 3 numbers. He says thank you and hangs up.

Well, what you don’t realize is that the entire phone call was about getting those three little numbers. You’ve just enabled a scam artist to buy thousands of dollars worth of merchandise by phone or online with your credit card

You see, he already had your credit card number, and he probably purchased it from a database hacker or an identity thief. The 3-digit pin simply makes it easier to go forward and use the credit card.

Now, the moral of the story is this: never give out private information over the telephone, unless you originate the call to make the purchase from a company that you actually know.
