Alright, this began as a classic Cal Ital (California grown Italian varietals) tasting, and it still is to some degree. Can you think of one country who has spawned a larger number of great meals, great looking people, great artists, great vacations (and the list goes on) than Italy? Nor, can I. The fo...cus of this week is to pay homage to the country that given us so much.
And in addition, some of our suppliers dropped their drawers to get their wines into this tasting so we now have some of these available at nationwide low prices!
Either way, we're fully stocked with everything from high-end specialty gifts to $10 Bitch Bubbly. Gina's cranking out gift baskets. She can include your favorite wine or beer, just set the price and let her work her magic. Oh, yeah, and did I mention that we now have a keg of beer on tap?

Due to plenty of probing and prodding we're proud to announce our yearly Long Shadows tasting.
Long Shadows is a very creative project from Washington State, where Allen Shoup (former CEO of Chateau Ste. Michelle) hires "celebrity" winemakers from around the world to fly to Washtington to make one specific wine each. 7... wines, 7 different winemakers.
These wines are very sought after and highly respected. This will be your only opportunity to taste them. We will not be pouring them again throughout the year. RSVP is mandatory. Seating is very limited.

Smell-O-Rama
I once visited St. Supery winery in Napa Valley. They had these stations set up. One with cinnamon sticks, one with freshly picked cherries, one with tobacco leaf. They encouraged us to sniff the 3 scents, then handed us a glass of their award winning Bordeaux blend. Upon smelling the wine, the similarities... between the wine and the fresh scents was shockingly accurate. 5 years later, here we are, attempting to recreate the same experience at our humble little store.
This weekend, we bring you Smell-O-Rama! We'll have smelling stations around the room with aroma kits that mirror the scent in the given wine. It's a sensory, olfactory, and intellectual stretching of your wine experience. We're here to learn. We're here to educate.

I'm not sure why we fight it. We love California wines. We have great relationships with winemakers here. And we are getting great deals on California wines right now. I say, let's become a California wine specialty retailer. For now, we commit to bringing you the finest wines from our Golden State, at t...he lowest prices anywhere on the Internet. It's a huge claim, but it's what we do.
This week, we focus on the Burgundian varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Nearly all these wines have scored more than 90 points and they range in style from firm brightly acidic Arcadian to the ripe and juicy Pali Wine Co. All of these are offered at heavily discounted prices. They won't last long.

Happy to be home.
Alas, we have returned from our extended and very much appreciated hiatus. THANK YOU again for your support and permitting Gina and I to spend time with one another and quietly and privately enjoy the first month of marriage together without interruption. Both the wedding and honeymoon went as perfectl...y as we could have ever hoped, and as with most long vacations, we are thrilled to return to work and reconnect with all our friends.
Today is first official day of commerce. And, of course, we'll be having our regular weekend tasting this Friday and Saturday.
Mawl Wine Gina and I closed the store for 1 month to get married and go on our honeymoon. We had a closing reception. Everyone came to party and Michael Pukac came to do a live painting.
