Garner Trojans 2009 Garner Football is underway! Garner had a 7 on 7 scrimmage against Green Hope yesterday. 50 days till we go to battle at Millbrook (Friday, August 21st)!

Wahoo! But i hate Wildcat Stadium. 105 degrees, 400% humidity and no shade. Still, its opening night.

Phillip Ayscue Congrats to 2008 grad Booker Nunley who scores a 2nd place finish in the 110-meter junior hurdles at the US Track and Field Championships. Earlier this season, Nunley earned All-American at the NCAA Championships.

Phillip Ayscue Kudos to 2009 graduate and NCSU signee Meagan Proper who will play in the 2009 NC Coaches Association East-West All-Star soccer game! Proper joins alums (and future Wolfpack teammates) Paige Dugal ('08) & Kaitlin Wescoe ('07) as all-star selections. 1992 GMHS grad Kasey Monroe played in the first all-star soccer game and was most outstanding player. Congrats to Meagan for continuing the Garner Winning Tradition!!

nccoach.org finally added the 2009 rosters to their site today. Basketball game is Monday, July 20th, 8:30PM and the soccer is Tuesday, July 21st at 6:30PM. Congrats to DaMetrius and Meagan!!

Garner Trojans Varsity softball improves to 12-1 and undefeated in the GNRC! Nadia Jefferies is hitting .458 and Kasey Hamrick is hitting .410 on the season. Christie Wright has a current ERA of .16 and 113 Strike Outs! JV is also doing great with a record of 8-2-1. GO TROJANS!

Garner Trojans The Varsity Softball team took out Holly Springs 1-0 and Christie Wright picks up her 11th win leadin the NCHSAA 4A this season. JV Softball wins over Holly Springs 5-3! Men's Tennis is just knockin team after team off. They are now 9-0 in conference! Where's the love in the local papers?!

Garner Trojans JV Baseball takes out Apex 7-3! Matt Hawley picks up his 2nd win and Scotty McCreery finishes up in relief. CJ Schmitt takes one over the fence for his 5th homerun of the season. JV Baseball is now 8-3 on the season.

Garner Trojans JV baseball split tournament games on Friday. They lost to Western Harnett 8-2 but turned around and crushed Pine Forest 18-7. In the Pine Forest game Scotty McCreery gets the win, with Matt Hawley pitching in relief. Brett Walters goes 4-5 and Connor Torrulla goes 3-5. JV Baseball is 7-3 on the season.

Garner Trojans The Varsity girls soccer team lost to Clayton 3-1. Jena Carroll scores for Garner off a corner kick by Meagan Proper. The Varsity girls are 3-7 on the season.

Garner Trojans The Varsity Baseball team has a record of 5-6 on the season. The guys defeated Holly Springs. Phillip Myrick picks up the win in 5 innings ofrelief. Jeremy Conyers went 5-5, including a 9th inning hit, stole 2nd and 3rd. Dillon Creech's single got Conyers in to win the game!!!

Garner Trojans In Men's Tennis Garner knocks off the Clayton Comets 7-2. Jake Smith, Patrick Holmes, Alex Bennett, Patrick Stephenson, and Luke Tompkins won in singles play. And in Doubles, Holmes and Stephenson won and Smith and Tompkins won.
Men's Tennis is 2-1 on the season.
