Gary Papa Remembered (A Tribute to a Philadelphia Icon)
Action News sports director Gary Papa, 54, died today, more than five years after explaining to viewers that he was losing his hair due to prostate cancer.

Mr. Papa, a Buffalo native, joined 6ABC in April 1981 as a weekend sportscaster.

Wish Upon A Hero Foundation. The award is given to people who bring
awareness and support for a cause. Gary receives the Inspirational Hero
Award for helping found a local prostate cancer fundraiser called Run 4 Your Life.
Gary has been an inspirationa...l leader in the Philadelphia community for
