I'm collecting signatures to get Gary Peters name on the ballot. One couple was so glad to see me, they offered pizza. It's been a good experience to see how enthusiastic so many are about Gary's candidacy.

When the nation gets a cold Flint MI USA get phenomena. If NAFTA hurt your working men and women a little it devastated us. So we have a right to complain. Now I understand macro economics but trade policy should be challenged and open to modification at all times. To cry protectionism now simply will fuel a debate and resulting in reasonable modification to or elimination of NAFTA which has devastated the working men and women of this country. I guess I have an opinion.[trb)

In response to the comment below, that is the argument that Dennis Kucinich's opponent used against him because he was running for President, although he had one of the highest voting rates in Congress.

If anything, Peters is setting an example for his students by showing them that it is a civil right of any American citizen to run for public office if they see the need. Maybe instead of complaining and protesting him trying to change things for the better, they should get involved and find in what he is doing for his campaign and how they can contribute to either side of the issue.

Gary Peters is sacrificing the education of CMU students by refusing to decide between running for Congress and fulfilling his three-year professorship. He should do the right thing and pick Washington or Mount Pleasant. You can't do both jobs, Gary.
