Gary Yesterday marked my one year anniversary of the loading of my youtube presentation of Beowulf Retold. After one year I had 738 viewings. Not bad when all I expected was about 50.
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman Last Thursday Night, Nov. 19th I had the privilidge of telling stories at a camp fire event to Pack 317 at Keller's Bear Creek Park and had a great time with my audience. The kids and adults were an curteous and responsive audience. the kind of audience that makes storytelling fun.

Gary Whitaker / The Storyman This coming Tuesday Night , October 27th, I will be with my old scout troop 336 at their home base, Heritage Trace Church, where they will hold the annual Weblos open house and I will be somewhere on the grounds telling stories for the visiting Weblos.
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman This Friday Night, I and DeCee Cornish will be telling ghost stories at Chisholm Park in Hurst Texas from 7 to 8pm. This is a FREE Program and open to the public
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman October 23, a Friday Night from 7-8 pm I will be telling ghost stories along with DeCee Cornish at Chisholm Park in Hurst Texas. This program will be run by the Hurst Parks and Recreation Department. This is a free to the public, open event, all are welcome.
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman Once all three parts are finished and refined it is possible that I might turn this into a stage production, a one man show. Beowulf Retold.
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman I have also already written and completed the 2nd part, the story that covers Beowulf's battle with Grendel's mother. The 3rd part, which is set 50 years later and Beowulf is now King of the Geats, is still being written but is half done.
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman In the past during my live presentations of Beowulf I have never stuck to the exact version that I used on the Cd except for the first half of the story. When I wrote the CD version I intentionally curtailed that version to fit into a 20 minute time slot but when performing the second half I have always varied it but I also always stuck to the root of that version.
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman Just finished rewriting the live performance storytelling version of " Beowulf " Part 1, the battle between Grendel and Beowulf.
Gary Whitaker / The Storyman canceled boy scout gig due to a small turn out by the troop so I be staying home tonight and doing a little R&R
