High-octane rockers Gaucho, combine a sprinkling of Californian surf with a blast of home-grown British rock to create an original sound that’s proved a hit with fans.
Fresh from recording at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios in London, the 4 piece will soon be launching their new EP and are currently promoting it around the UK.
Vocalist, Marcus’s emotional sound and his soul-searching lyrics have struck the right chord with the lively audiences that turns up to support the foursome at gigs across the UK. His lyrics are inspired and discuss the human condition from a unique angle.
Marcus’s stories are brought to life by the big stadium rock sound of Gaucho’s raucous riffs, which led to them being described by Sandman Magazine as: “a band so tight you need a tub of Vaseline to get some of the hooks out of your head.” With cracking, booming rhythms and skilful, melodic guitar, Gaucho are taking the American rock sound and giving it their own harmonious and high-energy twist.
Gaucho has gathered an enthusiastic band of followers and is building a reputation as a spirited and powerful live act. Gaucho has played internationally renowned venues such as The Cavern in Liverpool and the Night and Day Café in Manchester, as well as supporting the American rock band, Wheatus.
In January 2008 Gaucho beat thousands of bands from across the country to win the EMusic.tv and Colgate Unsigned Competition, with their single ‘Well Remembered’.
On the judging panel were The Feeling's lead singer, Dan Gillespie, and Jo Charrington, Head of A&R at Epic Records (Sony BMG). The boys won the top prize of recording at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London.
Marcus said: “Bands record in Abbey Road because of the sound produced from those rooms. It is unique to that studio. The full, wholesome sound with that distinctive reverb can't be recreated anywhere else and, let's be honest, thats rock ‘n’ roll.”
