Face it, just which popular singers haven’t spent part of
their careers as a blonde? Seems that blondes don’t just
have more fun, they sing some of the best songs, too.
Barbra Streisand and Elton John have been blondes at
least some of the time, but they’re not the only ones!

We’re proud to have received a grant from the Ga...y and
Lesbian Association of Choruses to create a brand new
work which we’ll premier at this concert. Gay composer
Eric Lane Barnes (he used to be blonde), popular for his
creative use of humor, is creating a spectacular new work
that speaks to one of the deepest divisions that the LGBT
community experiences. No, not hair color – age.

Join us as we welcome to the stage The Rock Creek Singers, a small ensemble from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington. You won’t believe how wonderful these guys
sound! And you, too, will develop a crush on the ensembles very own fabulous blonde, director Thea Kano.

The Gay Men's Chorus of Charlotte is pleased to host a choral singers workshop with renowned clinician and choral conductor, Dennis Coleman on Friday, November 7, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:15 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Charlotte.

Dennis is the Artistic Director of Seattle Men's Chorus and Seattle Women's Chorus.... SMC is the largest community chorus in America.

There is no cost to attend. But we'd like to know you're coming. To register, please just send an e-mail to info@gmccharlotte.org.

Many of us come to our choirs and choruses with little or no training as singers. Even those of us with years of training develop singing habits that are counter-productive. We harm our voices, shorten our singing career, and reduce the enjoyment we find in singing. We leave rehearsals coughing and with our voices tired. Over the years, our vocal range shrinks. And we don't know why.

Dennis will help us identify common choral problems and provide helpful guidance and techniques that will improve your singing, make you a better choir member, and increase your enjoyment of singing.

If you sing every week, once in a while, or even think you'd like to sing someday in a community chorus or church choir - regardless of the style of music your ensemble specializes in - this clinic is for you. Please join us on November 7 for an excellent adventure in choral singing!

It’s another rollicking holiday season, with all the fun and
funny you’ve come to expect from us. We’ll have everything from beautiful new settings of traditional carols to a visit with a crew of rebellious, cloistered monks, from the stunning beauty of Morten Lauridsen’s "O Magnum Mysterium." We’ll even drop in for a v...isit with Snow White herself to see how she spends her Christmas vacation. It’s so much fun that we’ve added a second erformance on Friday night, December 19!Read More
