You remember 1986 don't you? Well that was the year that the band, Boston, finally scored their first number one hit, Amanda. They got close with a few others - Mpre Than a Feeling ('76) made it to 5 and Don't Look Back made it to 4 but on this date 23 years ago Boston hits number 1! How about checking into some of tha...t classic Boston Sound that lead guitarist, Tom Scholz created - nothing like a Rockman in the '80s!Read More

Gbase.com 30 years ago this week, Bad Company hit the charts with "Can't Get Enough". The rest is music history but Mick Ralphs had a sound that held true whether is was with Mott the Hoople or BC. He was a Les Paul guy, thru and thru. Now one thing that Gbase has plenty of is Les Pauls. Les Paul Jr's, Customs, Standards, Specials - you want one, we got one. How about this one....

Bwahhahahahaha - halloween is nearly upon us and what would halloween be without scary music. I pondered and pondered, as to what was the scariest music I've heard and all i could come up with was Blackie Lawless and W.A.S.P. - for those of you who are unfamiliar you'll have to Google that for a little more background.... But oddly enough, W.A.S.P. is releasing a new CD this October - "Babylon" - so let's all break out our BC Rich Basses and get creepy...Read More

I wouldn't exactly call Arlington "lovely", but the guitar show is pretty cool none the less. I think the Dallas Intl. Guitar Show (always in April) is cooler though.

Gbase.com Following the Beatles Rock Band line of thought (still haven't played it yet), next up is George - that magnificent '62 Gretsch Country Gentleman - beamed across the planet when appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show - it firmly placed this instrument in the iconic category. I was surprised to find, more than 40 of these, all different years and of course, all different prices ....

Last week brought the release of Beatles Rock Band. I've been reading about it for months now. They were talking about it on the radio forever it seems. I admit that I've totally bought into the hype and I want it. I just haven't jumped as of yet. So with a tip of the hat to Sir Paul - here's a little taste of what Gba...se.com has in store from the Beatle-esque catalog. We'll address John, George and Ringo, later in the week.Read More

I saw Clapton's red ES335 at the Dallas Intl. Guitar Show a few years back. The exact same guitar that was used on the live version of "Crossroads" as covered by Cream.
