Mark, what you said is proof-positive that we need Reform before we drift further into public and private bankruptcy. Some pre-election polls indicated 90% of Americans agree that Insurance / Medical Reform was important. I don't care if it's RNC, DNC, Conservative, Congressman Davis, or whomever, just fix this system so every American has accessibility to medicine. Aren't you tired of $250.00 plastic bedpans on your hospital bill??

Being retired from a U. S. Senator's Office, I know first hand why I had a job for over 21 years...more government? More Federal employees needed to implement and figure out what to do with the programs...then try to fix it when a person can not talk to someone to help understand whatever it is the government tried to fix...if anyone wants to fix ... Read Morethe system, you need to talk to someone who spent many years trying to make it work. We the people need to be accountable for ourselveswhether it be personally or professionally not someone or something else espcially the U.S. government. If you want to see how well a new government run insurance program will work, take a look at TRICARE and Medicare...ask the seniors along with our veterans and soldiers how good they are...espcially on this Veterans Day.

Tort reform, thus far, has demonstrated little effect on the cost and availability of health care. SomeSstates have legislated 'tort' reform but there is a no positive effect on the containment of medical cost. Texas and California are good examples of Tort reform, so far those reforms have helped the profit line of insurance companies only.

Troy, let me get this straight, you are a volunteer for Rep. Geoff Davis but you like to chide seniors, especially those with grey / blue hair. I may not agree with Geoff on some issues---but I know he isn't one to ridicule Kentuckians because they appear aged.

Democrats speak highly of a European style government. A la "the socialization of America". Joe's "You Lie" outburst is along those same lines, just from the opposing side. Need proof?? Watch British CSPAN, it is a hoot. As far as the President being deceitful, well duh, every intelligent American knows Obama's "health care system" will ... Read Morecost 2 times more than 900 billion quoted. All handout programs blow up. And yes, the illegals will be covered. Once enacted a liberial judge will rule they were illegally excluded. Obama is very smart and is counting on this.

America had a great run. But every country rises and falls. (See "Rome") We elected these people for change without asking "What Changes". We will just have to pay our taxes, and watch "required" health care bill bankrupt our country. Obama knows 2010 will be bad that is why he is pushing so hard. Soon we won't be able to pay our debt or our military to stop Chinese from collecting on their loans.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama used only-in-Washington accounting Wednesday when he promised to overhaul the nation's health care system without adding "one dime" to the deficit. By conventional arithmetic, Democratic plans would drive up the deficit by billions of dollars.

90% of the INSURRED are satisfied with their health care. A "fix"...maybe. Tort reform, portability, and expansion of Medicaide to cover the now "uninsurable". "Fixes" to make to market more competitve and affordable but NOT under the CONTROL of government.

Our government must think we the people must not be able to add and subtract. Anytime you are adding billions to the National debt which is now so ENORMOUS....the only way pay the bill will be through higher taxes and cuts to such programs as Medicare and Medicaid which service the elder citizens.

$50,000 for the Louisville Orchestra project? Come on people, I owe Duke energy $ 1,200 to date, I don't expect the goverment to give me a damn penny, in fact I will probaby owe more taxes. Let's put this money to a better use. Donate it a local food pantry, something. I would rather see me taxes hard at work to a program that is needed, not that is a want.
