George Town, Penang Penang is taking survey of 5,000 buildings in the core and buffer zones and include basic popularion and employment information on every residence, business, government agency, religious or clan association, educational institution and non-government organisation.

FROM now until January, census takers are combing the streets of George Town in Penang to collect data on the population as well as the usage of each premises within the heritage core and buffer zones.

THOSE from the mainland who wish to cross over to the island this Sunday are urged to use the ferry services, as the Penang Bridge will be closed from 2am until 10am for the Penang Bridge International Marathon 2009.
