Oreo's ending is so tragic, but even worse is the fact that she is just one victim among so many in our country who face such terrible abuse and neglect. Thank god for all the true animal lovers committed to saving dogs like Oreo and who never stop fighting on their behalf. Please support an animal shelter or no-kill... sanctuary near you. Whether adopting, volunteering or donating...it all helps to make a difference.Read More

Although Oreo was seen as a danger to the public by officials, the news of her impending death prompted an outpouring of last-minute pleas to spare her life.

Trish This is Nubbin. She is one tough little girl! The oncologists at the Vet School had never seen nodular dermatofibrosis until they met Nubbin. She is doing well so far!

Trish This is Onnie. Run free at the Bridge, Boo Boo Baby, until we meet again.

Thank you. We miss him so much. We only had him two years (rescued from an abusive woman) and it seems much too short. He deserved so much more. He was such a good boy. ♥ ♥

This is my Essie Mae. I worked at Animal Control when she came in when she was 4 months old. Someone had cut off her ears and left her in an abandoned car to die. My husband and I adopted her. She is such an awesome girl! She was diagnosed with lymphoma at the beginning of the year. She went into remission with her fir...st chemo treatment! She is through with chemo and is still in remission. She is seven years old.We love her so much. We had two other dogs diagnosed with cancer in the last two years. Nubbin, a mixed breed we rescued as a puppy nine years ago, was diagnosed with a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor on a toe and had it amputated. She also was diagnosed with nodular dermatofibrosis at that time. She just had another toe amputated because of the nodular dermatofibrosis. Unfortunately, there is no treatment. Onnie, a Bulldog we rescued, was diagnosed with rhabdomysarcoma in his throat at the end of last year. We opted against radiation because he would not have had a good quality of life. We had to help him to the Bridge in March. He would have been nine years olf April 1st. We miss him so much.Read More
