Gerai OA The stall will be over-run by fish-y dragons, well-ness sculptures (ever wondered what causes your massive headaches?) and more by the Jah Het. They really are collector's items!

Great news for Christmas shoppers and collectors! Gerai OA will be at our favourite venue, Great Eastern Mall from 6th-15th November 2009. And we've managed to haul out so many crafts from all over Malaysia in time for this sale.
There will be at least 10 other stalls selling all-made-in-Malaysia crafts, including batik..., ceramics and accessories.
WHAT'S NEW?
Look forward to a large collection of Jah Het sculptures from Sg. Koi, Kuala Krau in Jerantut, Pahang. This year's collection is well-finished and features pieces from 4 carvers including Yatim and Hassan, two elder carvers.
There are also many new pandanus mats from both the Semelai and Jakun. This collection predominantly features "selinsing", a special type of mat which is mildly spongy and durable. We have not seen so much "selinsing" mats in all our years of work in Tasek Bera!
There are also new baskets and containers from the Jakun of Kg Gong in Pekan, Pahang. These include a modified tapioca grater turned fruit basket and many, many "epok buyu" lidded mad-weave boxes - great for storage.
The bead bar will be open (selling loose ceramic beads only), and a good selection of items from cooking ladles to bamboo humming tops. Come early for the best choices in colours & varieties.

Gerai OA NEW! Semai "sik kes" mini tops made from large "kes kual" (berangan or local 'chestnut'). Very interesting, easy to play and loads of fun. Suitable for kids. Only RM3 each, but limited stock available.
Gerai OA NEW! Semelai pandanus mats, many made of selinsing, a semi-spongy species of pandanus that grows on river margins. Limited 2-ply selinsing mats also available for RM90.

Gerai OA Yay! Yesterday we've remitted the online sales monies of Kembang Sejambak's popular lopa' panjang pandanus wallets to the weavers. They were amazed at the rapid response: 9 pieces sold in 1 week!

Gerai OA NEW! Semelai "Pepening" mini tops made from "berangan" nuts. Very limited quantities. Awfully fun! Get them at the Eco Film Fest today.
Gerai OA NEW SALE: Gerai OA will be at the final screening of the Eco Film Fest 2009 @ Palatte Palette this SUNDAY. 1-6pm. Small items only. There will be other stalls, causes and organic. And two live music acts!
