
Germanna Community College Forty employers will be available to talk to jobseekers from 10 am to 2 pm Monday at Germanna's Daniel Center. The Daniel Center is located near the intersection of US 29 and Route 3 east of the town of Culpeper, about 30 miles west of Fredericksburg. A similar event in Chesterfield County recently attracted a crowd of 3,200, according to The Richmond Times-Dispatch.

When a YouTube poster said Kataryna Volkskova, a Ukrainian GCC student who learned English via the college's English as a Second Language program, speaks so well she must really be American, a foreign poster replied that she couldn't possibly be American because she's "slender." I resemble that remark.

When Kateryna Volkovska came to America two years ago, she spoke little English. At 17, she had already been attending the Ukrainian Academy of Law, so no public high school would take her. ESL classes at Germanna have made her fluent in English, and she's now taking criminal justice classes at GCC....
