GC has places available in 2 exciting London races over the coming months: 5k run around Regent's Park on Sunday 10th May 2009 10k ASICS British 10k London on Sunday 12th July 2009 Entrance in either race costs £30, and if you'd like to raise sponsorship for young people in crisis on top of this, that would be great. Get Connected
So the Get Connected auction was last night, and as most of you will know this is a huge event in our calendar involving some amazing auction lots and sky-high bidding.
Thanks to donations of wonderful holidays, hot air balloon trips and VIP sports experiences, we raised approximately £145,000 (we're still counting the last few pennies...).
We couldn't have done it without the support of our volunteers, many of whom helped out on the night and made sure our guests had a great time. Thank you!

Get Connected
We did it!
Last night, Get Connected took over the Odeon in Covent Garden for the premiere of four short films that the winners of our Nobody's Perfect competition created.
The winners - Adam Wedd, Stephanie Lennox, Zemmy Momoh, Toby Cohen, Dulani Wilson, Timothy Unzola and Thomas Grigg - were all there, as were members of our celebrity judging panel Sandi Thom, JJ Feild and Georgia Groome.
As an added bonus, Anne Hathaway, Lily Allen and Jonathan Demme were also in attendance to watch a BAFTA screening of Anne and Jonathan's new film, Rachel Getting Married. Anne and Jonathan were late into their own screening because they took so much time to speak to the competition winners.

Thanks to everyone who came along to Get Comedy on Monday.
We hope you had a brilliant night and enjoyed all the acts. We were particularly pleased to have Daniel Kitson join the line-up at the very last minute - what a hero. All of the comedians said they had a great time, and would like to extend their thanks to you for being such a lovely audience!
Thanks to all of you, we raised just under £4,000.
Hopefully we'll be able to do it again soon!

Get Connected and eatsleepthink have won the Charity Times Award for Corporate Community Involvement.
The judges said our partnership is "an interesting and unique corporate partnership with the company using an innovative approach to its work and re-branding the charity."
We think eatsleepthink thoroughly deserve this award, which recognises their massive contribution to Get Connected. Since eatsleepthink created our new brand in 2006, they have been designing publicity materials and organisational literature for Get Connected always at very low cost.
We've also benefitted from countless ideas and advice from Mike at eatsleepthink.

Get Connected Ever wanted to Skydive but never had a chance? Then why not do it for Get Connected! The Carphone Warehouse have kindly organised a drop in Netheravon Parachute Centre, Wiltshire in the South and Cark Airfield, Cumbria in the North. If you're a CPW employee then you get to have the day off as well! All you have to is raise £500 for GC. Please email charity@cpwplc.com if you'd like to get involved or for further info
